January, 2024

Privacy notice

As part of our ongoing commitment to improve the information and services provided to our customers, Jisc is conducting this annual survey.

Jisc will collate the results internally and use aggregate survey data and/or anonymised quotes in the compilation of reports for wider internal and external publication and to improve the information and services provided to our customers. Jisc's main privacy notice provides further information about how Jisc uses your data and your rights.

Net Natives has contributed to the survey questions to improve knowledge of student needs. Pseudonymised data from the survey will be shared with them to be used in aggregate for reports, events, and promotional materials. Please see Net Natives' privacy policy.

We have selected Snap Surveys to host the research for us. Please read Snap Surveys' privacy policy before completing the survey.

This survey is aimed at individuals 13 years of age or older. If you are under 13 years of age, you should not participate.

The survey will collect information relating to personal characteristics, including nationality, age, ethnicity and disability status. This information helps us to analyse the early careers landscape more effectively. You may answer 'prefer not to say' for any of these questions.

Participants' personal information will not be used in the analysis or published in any media or reports resulting from this research. This information will be stored on a server owned and managed by Snap Surveys and located in the UK, as well as on Jisc's owned and managed servers.

If you have any questions about this survey, please contact the research team at futureyouopinions@jisc.ac.uk.

If you wish to enter the prize draw, we will collect your name and email address to administer the draw and contact you if you should win.

If you register an interest in joining the research panel, "Future You: Opinions", we will retain your contact details to contact you with further information.

We will securely delete your contact information once the prize draw has been completed and the winner announced. The winner's email address will be retained by the vendor used to fulfil the prize. We will retain the pseudonymised survey data for the longer term to analyse early careers trends over time.

If you have any queries concerning this privacy notice or would like to know more about how Jisc uses your information, or want to make a subject rights request, please contact Jisc's data protection team at dataprotection@jisc.ac.uk.
